Girls Night Out

I have never visited this subject before but have had many requests for it, and found painting a light-hearted version of the idea a great deal of fun. I chuckled a lot while painting it and enjoyed it immensely.

Girls Night Out

Tipsy Pumpkins

Tipsy Pumpkins

I was having so much fun with the Halloween subject matter that, after I finished Girls Night Out, I kept going with the festivites...thus the pumpkins and black cats of the Girls Night Out image migrated right into this piece and the one following....I had fun!

Festive Haystack

Festive Haystack

So here are the cats again, this time dressed for the occasion, and they have carefully decorated their own Halloween haystack, for which they clearly are proud...

Precious Memories

Our excited greeting to our visiting daughters and their families at this special time of year....

Moonlight Sheep

Moonlight Sheep

A lovely snowy night with a full moon and contented sheep in the pasture.

Snow Tracks

The kids are having a blast with all this snow, leaving their sled tracks everywhere.

Trimbles Mill

Trimbles Mill

This lovely and historic 1800's mill sits near the little village of Swoope, at the foot of Little North Mountain west of Staunton, VA.

Surprise Snow

Early March snow that left us housebound in a wonderland...altogether very pleasant.

Outfoxed Again

Having been encouraged to revisit this subject using much the same look as the earlier version, I painted this newer and smaller one, this time focusing a bit more on the clever foxes.

The Farmers Way

Down the road from our house is a farm with a very tall silo that is lit with a beautiful star every Christmas... his distinct way of celebrating.

Last One

There is always one leaf that desperately hangs on til the very end...

Reflections

I just love the pretty fall colors where we live.

Reflections

Moonbeam Watchers

My friend read me a poem that she had written about moonbeams creeping around the side of a building...and I had to paint it.

Shelter from the Storm

The cows retreated under the fir trees and the mother and foal are in the barn.

Fall Chores

Fall Chores

We used to rake up the leaves every fall and burn them...the smell still brings back wonderful memories.

Driving Lesson

She's learning to drive a horse and sleigh in the snow.

Papa's New Wheels

Papa just bought a brand new John Deere and, oh boy, is he proud!

Snowy Adventure

The first good snow always calls for an afternoon outing just to see how pretty everything looks.

Stopping By

There is a family of Canada geese that come every spring to check out our stream.

They'll Jump Anything

That's a description of our daughters, for sure... but not their mama!

The Perfect Tree

My friend absolutely has to have the perfect tree. After going with her to pick it out, I couldn't resist painting the experience.

Pumpkin Thieves

The horses found the wagon full of pumpkins and are making quick work of it...

Littlest Snow Angel

One of the requirements of the first snowfall was always to make our own snow angel.

Outfoxed

I love the colors and energy of fox hunters and their horses and dogs, but it is necessary for me to always have the fox better his adversaries.

Mine's Bigger!

An argument between the kids over whose pumpkin is the biggest....

Pop the Whip

The ageless game translated to an outing on the ice.

Festival of Pumpkins

All the fun that can possibly be crammed into a warm fall afternoon.
